In my Accessible Cinema class, I chose an audio-rich scene from You and incorporated creative/animated captions to describe in written words the actors’ speech and voiceovers, and environmental sounds. My goal was to provide d/Deaf audiences something more interesting than generic subtitles. By animating the subtitles, I hoped to show a more complete sense of how the characters present themselves in the scene.
